Senator Pat Roberts has represented and defended my family and the state of Kansas for more than 30 years – first as a representative of The Big First Congressional District and then as U.S. Senator. During his time in Washington, Roberts has stood for the people and industries of his state, including agriculture.
As a farm owner, I have developed a deep appreciation for Robert’s work to ensure continued freedoms and prosperity. He has fought the EPA on multiple attempts to strangle us with regulations and pushed back on the Department of Labor when it proposed limiting a child’s ability to help on the family farm. He stood up to Democrat’s attempts to regulate particulate matter in the air and water in our ditches.
As a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, Senator Roberts helped draft several farm bills, going so far as to hold a field hearing in Wichita to ensure Kansas farmers and ranchers were heard. And members of his staff visited our farm in 2010 to witness, first hand, Kansas agriculture in action and allowing us an opportunity to share our thoughts and concerns.
I don’t care where Senator Roberts hangs his hat at night or how long he has served our state. I care that he represents my family and our way of life. Senator Roberts has been a tireless advocate of agriculture and rural Kansas and I will cast my vote for him Nov. 4 because I want to ensue the continuation of our family business and way of life.
